Primary Purpose of the Position
This position, as a contractor for the NC Division of Motor Vehicles, is responsible for the issuance of NC license plates and title work. Work involves the examination of appropriate documents in issuing titles and tags. The employee is responsible for complying with all NC DMV title manual regulations as well as town policy.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Issue NC license plates and titles.
- Notarize documents as prescribed by the NC Secretary of State.
- Examine title documents to meet the requirements of the NC Division of Motor Vehicles.
- Collect and be accountable for monies collected.
Possession of an appropriate valid North Carolina’s driver license in good standing and a NC commission as a Notary Public.
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of reaching, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to prepare data and statistics, to work with accounting processes, proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel, and to perform extensive research and reading.
STARTING PAY RANGE: $12.00 per hour
